June Banks, Basketball Trainer, Coach and President of 5onfive, inc.

His coaching experience includes Assistant Freshman and Head JV coach for the boy’s basketball team at Capistrano Valley High School, the head coach for 8th grade Girl’s team and 7th grade Boy’s team at Corona Del Mar High School, Freshmen coach at St. Margaret’s, coach for St. Anne’s 5th grade boys team and numerous lower level recreational teams and club teams.

Additionally June and 100 of his players were part of the Fundamentals of Basketball video series by Magic Johnson.  Filmed at Soka University in 2004.

June has been teaching basketball skills to boys and girls ages 8-18 in the South Orange County area for over 20 years.  June has privately trained hundreds of boys and girls from the South County area and currently has numerous club teams. In 2007 June was also the commissioner of the Mission Viejo Youth Basketball League with over 500 players. June has a B.S. in Business Management from California State University at Long Beach and has over 35 years of playing and coaching experience.

Payton Banks, Basketball Trainer, Coach 

The newest member of our 5onfive team, Payton Banks is the son and product of June Banks. Payton Banks played at Orange Lutheran High School and currently stands in the top 5 in all statistical categories, #1 Rebounding,  #3 Points, #5 Assists, #5 Steals. He went on to play at Penn State University where he then averaged 10 ppg along with 4 rpg over his 4 years as a collegiate player. Payton was co-captain for the Penn State Nittany Lions in his senior season, a representative for his team at Big 10 media day, recipient of the Penn State Athletic Department's Phoenix award and received the Sportsmanship Award for Penn State in the Big 10 conference. Payton is also a part of the prestigious 1000 point club. This milestone was reached after his 12ppg graduate year at University of South Florida.
